Researchers estimate that 61% of all serious runners will have an episode of over-training at least once in their running career. Here are a few signs that will help you recognize if you are over-training for the upcoming marathon:
1. You see no progress despite a regular training program
2. You experience low energy levels and general lethargy/moodiness
3. You’re more prone to minor injuries
4. You’re more susceptible to contracting colds, flu, and other viruses
5. You are feeling irritable or even reluctant about training
If you experience any of these signs, you could probably use a few days rest and some adjustments to your training program
