1) SIT UP STRAIGHT– watch out for slouching on that sofa in front of the TV or at your desk. This compresses the discs and tissues in the lumbar spine.
2) ACT FAST- use heat to ease muscle spasm, if the back pain is moderate to severe use over the counter pain-killers or anti-inflammatories to help ease the symptoms. Get moving with gentle exercise and movement.
3) IMPROVE YOUR LIFESTYLE- back pain can be a message that your lifestyle is not great. Move more, sit less, reduce your body weight, take up an exercise class, don’t let back pain get you down.
