Finlay McDonald Physiotherapist North London

Finlay McDonald is a Senior Physiotherapist at BOOST PHYSIO with a particular interest in sports-related injuries and pre and post-operative rehabilitation. He sees patients at our Crouch End and East Finchley clinics.

Finlay holds a Master's degree in Physiotherapy and a Bachelor's degree in Sport & Exercise Science, combining strong academic knowledge with a genuine passion for helping people recover from injury, improve their performance and prevent future problems.

His particular interest in sports-related injuries has led him to build real expertise in Strength & Conditioning, and he has worked with athletes across various disciplines, helping them return to peak performance following injuries such as ACL ruptures, rotator cuff injuries and chronic overuse conditions.

Outside of work, Finlay likes to stay active himself and regularly competes in Muay Thai and Kickboxing, giving him a first-hand understanding of what it takes to train hard, get injured and fight your way back.

Finlay's Approach to Treatment

Finlay takes a sports science-led approach to rehabilitation, building recovery plans around clear, measurable progress rather than guesswork. Drawing on his Strength & Conditioning background, he focuses heavily on late-stage rehab and return-to-sport work, making sure patients are not just pain-free but genuinely ready for the demands of their sport or activity before they return to it. Whether someone is recovering from ACL surgery, a rotator cuff injury or a stubborn overuse problem, Finlay combines hands-on treatment with progressive, sport-specific exercise to get them back to full performance with confidence.
